Zamalek have announced former
manager Khaled Galal as successor to Christian Gross, five days after winning the
Confederations Cup.
Gross whose contract has run out today
confirmed his departure from The Whites on twitter.
After the Egyptian side's historic triumph
in the CAF Confederations Cup (CAFCC), club President Mortada Mansour revealed
that the days of the Swiss coach are numbered.
Following a disappointing one-all draw
against Entag EL-Harby on Thursday, which cost them the advantage in the league
title race, Monsour announced that Gross has played his last game as a manager
for the club, opting against extending the coach's contract.
The President has named Galal, who was part of the outgoing coach's technical staff, as
replacement after speaking to the former Coach before Gross’s last game. Galal
is set to name his technical staff and start work on Monday.
